I’m starting to make a portfolio. I started yesterday, and I’m not going to lie it was tiring. It may have been because I didn’t plan out the details to the point. I knew what I wanted, but I should’ve collected everything before I set up my shoot’s location. I will edit the pictures and start posting eventually.
Honestly, fashion is something that can get someone from one place in life to another. Like I said in my bio, I fell in love with fashion when I was 12 or 13. Still, I never actually dressed out in school or anywhere I went. I just augmented my knowledge about it. I felt that the less people knew, the better. I didn’t want people to treat me any differently than the way I was treated–which was as a smart nerd. I didn’t want people to look at me and try to copy me or worse compete with me. Hence, I kept everything on the down low.
I really dressed up for the first time when I went to Fashion’s Night Out at Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills right before college started back in 2011. Firstly, I felt amazing. I felt all eyes glancing at me and people keeping their stares on me and my outfit. I was well-dressed. I noticed how people treated me differently. I felt extraordinary. I felt like a completely different person. I will never forget that moment. It was so powerfully life changing. I realized how much power I had by just changing the way I dressed. It was remarkable, truly!
Because I realize the power something like personal style can give a person, I would like to help people discover their own confidence. It’s so magical how things become different when people just tweak something small like their wardrobe. I would like to help people find a different side of themselves through the narrative of style. After all, you can have whatever you want. Tweaking a single thing about oneself can bring extraordinary changes in one’s personality, and the way other people perceive the person!
P.S. There is so much more to come…’til then, enjoy!
